I made this cake for my mum this weekend, I wanted to go for something simple and elegant so I knew I wanted to start with a white base. I’ve seen this sort of style on tiered wedding cakes so I thought why not on a simple birthday cake. I love all the colours against the white, this is now one of my favourite cakes.
I also tried a new frosting! I added puréed strawberries to my buttercream frosting, it makes it very light and fluffy and it’s tastes lovely, I’ll be trying this on my cupcakes for valentines day too!
I made matching cake pops to go with this cake! They were covered in white chocolate and have a little butterfly sitting on top. Cute!
